Here’s a step-by-step explanation of the process

Before your piercing

We are only able to pierce people 16 years or older. We cannot pierce anyone who has consumed any alcohol prior to the piercing. If you are pregnant, have diabetes or on blood thinning medication we can only pierce you with a doctors note.

Consultation

One of our fully trained members of staff will discuss the piercing procedure with the you. During this time, you can ask questions and choose the type of earrings you would like.

Preparation and marking

We will clean and sterilise the part of your ear to be pierced. Inverness uses a hand-pressured instrument that is loaded with a pre-sterilised, hypoallergenic piercing earring capsule. This ensures a hygienic and safe environment for the piercing.

The next step is to mark the exact spot where the piercing will be done. This step is crucial to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Piercing

The Inverness piercing instrument is used to quickly and smoothly pierce the ear. The instrument simultaneously pierces the area and sets the earring in one smooth motion, minimising discomfort and reducing the chance of swelling.

The piercing instrument leaves behind the earring, which is securely placed in the newly pierced hole. Inverness earrings have a specialised design that promotes healing and minimises the risk of infection. The earrings are made from either titanium, medical-grade stainless steel or 9ct, 14ct or 18ct gold, which are safe for initial piercings.

Aftercare

Our care doesn’t stop once your ears are pierced. Inverness Aftercare Solution is specially formulated to soothe and cleanse your newly-pierced ears without the drying or chapping that can come from using rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. Inverness’ Aftercare Solution is, dermatologist-tested, vegan and Cruelty-Free.

Always wash your hands before touching the piercing. Clean your piercing 2-3 times a day until fully healed with the Inverness Ear Care Solution and clean cotton buds. We recommend avoiding activities that could irritate the piercing, such as swimming in pools or hot tubs. It’s essential for customers to follow these instructions to ensure proper healing.

Healing period

Piercing healing times are round 6 weeks for ear lobe and 12 weeks for cartilage.
